Personal Information Protection Policy

KILC Co., Ltd. (“the Company”) believes that appropriately handling personal information in the course of its business activities is a social responsibility. To fulfill this responsibility, the Company establishes the following personal information protection policy, builds a management structure for personal information protection, and ensures accountable corporate practices.

1. Proper Acquisition, Use, and Provision of Personal Information

We clarify the purposes of use within the scope necessary to conduct our business, and obtain, use, and provide personal information appropriately. We use acquired personal information only within the stated purposes and implement measures to prevent use outside that scope. When outsourcing all or part of personal information handling, we select contractors that maintain sufficient protection standards and implement appropriate measures through contracts and other arrangements.

2. Compliance with Laws, Guidelines, and Other Standards

We comply with laws, national guidelines, and other standards related to the handling of personal information.

3. Prevention and Remediation of Leaks, Loss, or Damage

We implement reasonable security controls and corrective measures against risks such as unauthorized access, loss, destruction, alteration, or leakage of personal information.

4. Response to Complaints and Inquiries

We promptly respond to requests from individuals for disclosure, correction, deletion, suspension of use, or other actions related to their personal information, as well as to complaints and consultations.

5. Continuous Improvement of the Personal Information Protection Management System

We continuously review and improve our personal information protection management system.

Handling of Personal Information

1. Purpose

This “Handling of Personal Information” sets forth the measures taken to secure personal information obtained through services operated by KILC Co., Ltd. (“the Company”). The objective is to safeguard the security of personal information handled via these services (“the Services”).

2. Definition

Personal information refers to information related to an individual user of the Services (“User”), including individual customers, business partners, employees, and any other natural persons, that can identify the individual through characters, images, audio, or similar means such as address, name, telephone number, or email address. Even if a single piece of information cannot identify an individual, information is also considered personal information when it can be easily matched with other data to identify the individual. Information regarding deceased persons that falls under this definition (“quasi-personal information”) is likewise treated as personal information.

4. Purposes of Use of Personal Information

We specify the purposes of use of personal information as follows and obtain and use personal information within the scope necessary to achieve those purposes. If we must obtain or use personal information for reasons outside the purposes listed below, we notify Users and obtain their consent in advance.

Purposes of use:

1. Providing services to Users and authenticating individuals for membership services
2. Providing personal information to client companies that use our services, based on User consent
3. Recruiting and communicating with monitors and interviewees for article production, and managing applications
4. Distributing targeted advertising based on User behavior, demographics, and access history within the Services and partner services, within a scope that does not identify individuals
5. Creating and using statistical information related to the Services, within a scope that does not identify individuals
6. Providing marketing materials to partners and other third parties, within a scope that does not identify individuals
7. Sending notices, receiving applications, communicating with winners, and shipping prizes for surveys, campaigns, and similar initiatives
8. Communicating with participants in events, seminars (including on-demand video), or Company-hosted communities, and conducting necessary data analysis after such activities
9. Performing necessary operations to provide the Services, respond to inquiries and complaints, and resolve disputes
10. Conducting investigations, reports, or communications necessary to ensure security in the Services or when incidents or accidents occur
11. Improving the Services, addressing defects, and developing new features
12. Sending communications necessary for operating the Services
13. Handling other tasks related to or associated with the purposes above

5. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

1. In principle, we do not provide personal information to third parties without User consent. However, we may provide personal information without consent in the following cases:

   • When required by law
   • When necessary to protect life, body, or property and obtaining the User’s consent is difficult
   • When particularly necessary to promote public health or the sound upbringing of children and obtaining the User’s consent is difficult
   • When cooperating with a national agency, local government, or their designee in performing duties set forth by law, and obtaining the User’s consent could interfere with the execution of such duties, as determined by the Company
   • When disclosure is requested by courts, public prosecutors, police, bar associations, consumer centers, or other public institutions
   • When the User explicitly requests disclosure or provision to a third party
   • When personal information is provided in connection with business succession due to merger or other reasons

2. Notwithstanding the preceding item, we may provide necessary items from personal information received from Users to partner businesses. Agreeing to this privacy policy constitutes consent to such third-party provision.

6. Disclaimer

We are not responsible for the acquisition of personal information by third parties under the following circumstances:

1. When a User voluntarily discloses personal information to a third party
2. When a User or another party is identified based on information entered by the User or others
3. When personal information is provided or used on external sites
4. When a third party obtains IDs, passwords, or similar credentials

7. Management of Personal Information by Third Parties Such as Client Companies

Personal information provided based on User consent is managed under the responsibility of the recipient.

8. Outsourcing of Personal Information Handling

We may outsource the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use. We carefully select contractors and supervise them to ensure safe management.

9. Joint Use

We jointly use personal information with our group companies as follows:

• Scope of joint users: The Company and its affiliated companies
• Personal information jointly used: Name, telephone number, email address, gender, age, mailing address, and similar information
• Purpose of joint use: The purposes listed under “4. Purposes of Use of Personal Information”

10. Accuracy of Personal Information

While we strive to process personal information accurately, Users are responsible for ensuring that the content they provide is correct and up to date.

11. Disclosure and Related Requests

1. Users may request disclosure, correction, deletion, suspension of use, or other actions regarding personal information they have provided. However, we may not be able to accommodate requests in the following cases:

   • When doing so may harm the rights or interests of the User or a third party
   • When doing so may significantly hinder the proper conduct of the Company’s operations
   • When doing so would violate laws or regulations

2. A prescribed fee is charged for disclosure and similar requests.

12. Use of Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies and similar technologies to improve convenience, perform statistical analysis, and optimize advertising effectiveness. These technologies do not collect personal information. Users can disable cookies in their browser settings, but certain functions may become unavailable.

13. Changes to the Personal Information Handling Rules

Unless otherwise required by law, the Company may revise these rules at any time.
